The strong hang test is a definite
test that measures workability of new concrete.
The test measures consistency of
concrete in that specific group. It is performed to check consistency of
freshly made bond. Consistency insinuates the straightforwardness with The test
is pervasive as a result of the ease of mechanical gathering used and
fundamental technique. Unfortunately, the ease of the test as often as possible
allows a wide variability in the path in which the test is performed. The hang
test is used to ensure consistency for different bundles of concrete under
field conditions,[1]:127,128 and to take in the effects of plasticizers on
their presentation. In India, this test is coordinated by specific.
Principle
The hang test measures the consequent
behavior of a compacted adjusted cone of concrete under the movement of
gravity. It indicates consistency or wetness of concrete
Apparatus
Metal mold, alive and well of the
frustum of a cone, open at both terminations, and outfitted with the handle,
beat internal estimation 4 in (102 mm), and base inside expansiveness 8 in (203
mm) with a stature of 1 ft (305 mm). A 2 ft (610 mm) long slug nosed metal
shaft,
5/8 in (16 mm) in estimation
5/8 in (16 mm) in estimation
Procedure
The test is finished using a mold
known as a hang cone or Abrams cone. The cone is put on a hard non-supple
surface. This cone is stacked with fresh concrete in three stages. Inevitably,
every layer is pressed 25 times with a bar of standard estimations. At the end
of the third stage, bond is struck off flush to the most elevated purpose of
the mold. The mold is carefully lifted vertically upwards with winding
development, so as not to bother the strong cone.
Solid fades away. This subsidence is
termed as hang, and is measured to the nearest 5 mm if the hang is <100 mm
and measured to the nearest 10 mm if the hang is >100 mm
Collapse
In a breakdown hang the strong falls completely.
Shear
Collapse
In a breakdown hang the strong falls completely.
Shear
In a shear hang the top part of the
strong shears off and slips sideways
True
In a certified hang the strong fundamentally fades away, keeping basically to shape
Limitations of slump Test
The hang test is suitable for hangs of medium to high workability, hang in the extent of 5 – 260 mm, the test fails to choose the qualification in workability in solidified mixes which have zero hang, or for wet mixes that give a breakdown hang. It is confined to concrete surrounded of sums of under 38 mm (1.5 inch)
